Doesn’t it seem like whenever there’s a sordid Hollywood scandal, Mindy McCready somehow ends up being right in the thick of it?  First the Roger Clemens thing, then the McSteamy naughty video that Mindy supposedly leaked to the press.  So now that McKenzie Phillips has shocked the world with her stories of drug use and inappropriate relationship with her famous dad, turns out Mindy’s in the middle of that, too!  She says she was rooming with McKenzie earlier this year while they were shooting “Celebrity Rehab,” which will air in January.  At the time, McKenzie was finishing up her tell-all memoir, and Mindy says her family was already very angry because they knew what was coming.  Mindy says that these revelations were all part of McKenzie’s recovery, and then she starts dishing out some advice:  “In order for you to be better you have to get real with yourself and with your friends and family members.”  Thanks, Dr. Mindy.

Toby Keith would like to politely request of his fellow music business people that they STOP whining.  When asked about taking time off, he said the following:  I see guys whining all the time.  Some of my best friends in the business can’t believe how many years I’ve gone without taking off…All the agents say, ‘Man, don’t you want to take off?  You shouldn’t want to work that much.’  I’m like, ‘This isn’t work.  Get on the business end of a shovel and see if that’s work.  this ain’t work.’”

Today’s the day you can get Miranda Lambert’s much anticipated new CD, “Revolution.”  To celebrate, she’ll be singing on David Letterman’s show tonight, then doing a bunch of other TV appearances, like “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on Thursday, “The Bonnie Hunt Show” next week, and then CNN, Fox News and E! later this month.  Go girl!

“Valentines Day” is a movie coming out next February with everyone in their brother in the cast, including Julia Roberts, Patrick Dempsey, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, and two Taylors:  Swift and Lautner.  If you’re a tween or you just act like one (attn:  me), then you know that Lautner is one of the stars of the “Twilight” movie series — he’s Jacob the Werewolf.  So you can imagine that some people are pretty excited about the two of them appearing in the movie, even if it’s just for a short scene.  Meanwhile, the director of the project says that Taylor (Swift) is working on a song that will be featured in the soundtrack.  No word on a title or anything yet, but now you know.

Check out these stats:  Taylor Swift’s debut CD has now been on the charts for a whopping 152 weeks, which sets a new record for country females. (Shania had the previous record with “Come On Over.”)  It’s also 9 times longer than Kenny Chesney stayed married to Renee Zellwegger (16 weeks — I did the math!).  So if she can hang on for four more weeks, she’ll actually be the longest charting artist of the century. Yowza!

Miranda Lambert’s new CD “Revolution” hits stores tomorrow, but some fans got a special preview of the whole playlist at the Historic Ryman theater last week.  Miranda hit the stage and played every single track from the new disc to a very appreciative crowd that included Taylor Swift and some pals.  After the new stuff, she played some hits and did a few covers.  Inspired by the history of the venue, she decided to belt out Patsy Cline’s “Crazy,” and part way through decided she didn’t even need a microphone.  For a full review, check out Nashville Gab.
