Here’s why:

richmore

Neighbors of “Mount Richmore” are annoyed by a lot of things about John Rich’s new house.  For one, it’s 73 feet tall and 11,000 square feet, so it’s blocking a few peoples’ pricey views.  But the latest problem is the lighting, which as you can see above, involves these really bright lights facing outward.  So a few disgruntled Nashvillians got on Twitter and organized a sort of flash mob protest, where people showed up with flashlights and aimed them into John’s house to give him a taste of his own medicine.  No comment from Mr. Rich, who is a new daddy, and probably a little sleep-deprived, which makes a person a little more cranky than usual.  Be careful, people!

No, it’s not an interview about all of Gary Allan’s many tats. It’s actually an interview about his new CD, “Get Off on the Pain,” which comes out on March 9th. But during the interview, he’s getting another tattoo! And he doesn’t even flinch. Check it out here:

Lots of honorees at the Country Radio Seminar this week, and among them was Trace Adkins, who received a humanitarian award for all of the work he’s done for a bunch of different charities….you might remember that he was promoting the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network when he was cast on Celebrity Apprentice. But Trace is also heavily involved with Animal Rescue, and also several veterans’ groups as well. He’s just not the kind of guy who goes around bragging about it. When he was given the award last night, the tough guy joked that he may have earned the award “simply because I’ve never killed anybody.” Tempted as he’s been while dealing with music business people all these years, he has refrained, and for that we salute him.

Remember when Carrie Underwood used to be sooooo tight-lipped about her personal life? Well now that she’s engaged to Mike Fisher, or her Honky Hockey Hunk as we like to call him, she’s happy to spill the beans on their wedding and other future plans. She says that even though they’re marrying, they’re not really going to settle down in any one place. She says, “We’ll be little nomads for a while, until one of us retires. Not being in the same room won’t lessen our relationship. We completely have faith in each other.” She also says that Mike will be a way better parent than her because he’s more used to kids than she is. Maybe when Mike retires from hockey, he can be a super-cute honky hunky stay-at-home-dad.

That’s what Kix Brooks said this week in Nashville as he and Ronnie Dunn were given a lifetime achievement award at the Country Radio Seminar this week. Fun was had by all, especially when Dierks Bentley did this cool version of “Red Dirt Road”:

We were reminiscing this morning about Clay Walker at our Hometown Holiday show a few years back, and how he KILLED (in a good way) the song “Brick House” by the Commodores. Sadly, no cameras were rolling, but here’s a YouTube video from some other show that at least gives you a small taste of it:

Yes, if it’s the crap of an Indonesian Civet. As sort of a joke, Brad Paisley’s band gave him some “kopi luwak,” an expensive and rare coffee drink that is derived from the poop of a cat-like animal that eats the fruit of the coffee plant. Brad says this delicacy his favorite morning beverage now! Good thing he can afford it…it’s at least $100 a pound.
