Yep.  It’s Kenny Chesney’s video for “The Boys of Fall,” which is of course about football, so it makes sense that there would be a sports connection.  You can catch your first glimpse of the video on ESPN at noon on Monday.  Then there’s also an 8 minute film that Kenny made featuring interviews with a bunch of football stars that will debut on Tuesday.

Is this a new trend in Hollywood or what? It’s another movie about a down and out country star who has a love affair that “rejeuvinates his spirit.” Anyone see “Crazy Heart”? Remember the new Gwyneth Paltrow movie coming out this winter about a rejeuvenated country star? Now it’s Russell Crowe, and the movie is called “Dirt Music.” This project was set to go a few years back with Heath Ledger in the lead role, but he decided to do “The Dark Knight” instead, and then died suddenly. Now the project is back with Russell in the lead, and since he used to front a rock band called, bizarrely, “30 Odd Feet of Grunts,” it shouldn’t be too much of a stretch.

Rascal Flatts got together yesterday to make 2 announcements, and depending on your outlook, one was way bigger than the other. If you are a music biz person, then it was a huge deal to learn that RF has left Lyric Street records after 10-plus years to join Big Machine. This is a huge deal for several reasons, but mainly because a few years back, Big Machine was a small deal in Nashville. Then the owner, Scott Borchetta, signed a girl named Taylor Swift and everything changed very quickly. Now he’s got Taylor, Reba and Rascal Flatts on his label, which officially makes him The Man.

Secondly, if you’re keeping track of the country baby boom, you’ll be excited to hear that the last Flatt to replicate, Jay DeMarcus, says that the baby on the way is a girl! Weird country baby trivia: Jay’s wife has a sister named Amy, who is married to James Otto, and who is also expecting a girl. So the girls will be little country star cousins!

I’m talking about Eddie Cibrian, and yes, I am being a little bit snarky.  According to People, LeAnn Rimes’ boyfriend has moved in to her house, which means that his two boys will also be living there part of the time as he has partial custody.  LeAnn’s spokseperson says “they’re excited for this happy new journey.”  Why am I still so judgemental?  I guess because kids are involved, and the whole “two houses” thing is a very delicate matter that probably shouldn’t be talked about or spun by a spokesperson.  However, I probably need to move on and start judging someone else.  By the way, LeAnn quit Twitter for a while, but now she has returned to chat about stuff like this and give her side of the story.  Like this tweet: “”Of all the rumors reported in the last 48 hours, People got it right! Thx for fairly and honestly reporting private, but happy news!”

Stalking is a very serious issue, and celebrities are often the victims.  But what if the stalker becomes a celebrity? Josh Turner was a big, huge Randy Travis fan when he was a kid.  So much so that he took a little trip to Randy’s home of Marshville, NC, just to see if he could catch a glimpse of his idol.  He cruised the streets, drove by Randy’s dad’s house, and finally settled for meeting a woman who had lived next door to Randy and had a nice big autographed poster in her living room.  Then many years later, when Josh himself was famous, he confessed all to Randy.  And as you might expect, Randy was a little shocked, but really, who would mind if Josh came knocking?

“Those cast as extras earn minimum wage, but are guaranteed at least 8 hours of pay plus any overtime. Extras for these episodes will work 1 or 2 days between now and mid-August. Working as an extra can be an adventurous and exciting experience, a great way to meet new people, learn first hand about the behind the scenes of show business and make extra money while doing it! Whoa.  Seriously, country stars, what’s up with the crazy breeding these days?  Josh turner now joins the list of country stars expecting babies right now.  Josh says wife, Jennifer, was acting different (Read: crazy, if I know anything about hormones).  So he talked her into taking a pregnancy test, and even though the first one was negative, he didn’t believe it, and he was right!  Baby #3 is due in early 2011, and will join 3 year old Hampton and 1 year old Colby.  So let’s see:  Baby # 3 for Josh, #2 for Dierks, Joe Don Rooney, and Luke Bryan.  And Baby # 1 for James Otto.  Who’s next?

Yep, and it’s pretty good!  Gwyneth Paltrow has released a song that was recorded for her new movie, “Country Strong,” which co-stars Tim McGraw and used to be called “Love Don’t Let Me Down.”  In the movie, Gwyneth plays a “fallen” country star who meets a rising star in rehab and then takes a stab at a comeback, aided by her husband/manager, played by Tim.  To hear the song, click on this link.  Usually when movie stars do country music, it’s not really authentically contemporary country.  But this definitely is…

She’s fine, she says, but Wynonna Judd, her daughter and her manager were all in a head-on crash in Salt Lake City last week while on their way to a sushi dinner.  Wy says she can’t go into details (law suits?  complications?) but that they are all fine and grateful to be alive, even if they’re a bit scratched and bruised.  She had to have a CAT scan, but was judged to be OK enough to keep touring.  She was on stage and good to go in Medofrd over the weekend so I guess she must be fine.
