So this is Lacey Buchanan.  She’s a model, and you might have also seen her in two of Jake Owen’s videos, “Eight Second Ride” and his newest, “Barefoot Blue Jean Night.”  She’s also Jake’s girlfriend.  But when you ask him about her, here is what he says….word for word!

“She was in the Eight Second Ride video…and so we just kept in touch.  I mean, she was definitely not my girlfriend.”  (Uh huh….go on, Jake)  ”I don’t even really like to call her…she doesn’t even like…I don’t even like to call her my girlfriend now.”  (Wuh-oh…but wait a minute, he’s changing his mind…)  ”But I mean, we are.”  (whooo hoooo!)  ”We’ve been dating for a while.  It’s kind of one of those cool things where it just works out, you know?  Like, years pass.  Two years passed and we somehow came back together.  And here we are.”   Everyone, all together now:  Awwwwwwww!!!!!

By the way, we chat with Jake tomorrow morning at 7:40 and you know we will be teasing him about this because we love him.

So many special guests at Taylor Swift’s four sold-out LA shows.  Most of them were musicians, so when Ellen DeGeneres got up on stage, Taylor didn’t really know what to do with her.  Ellen ends up rocking the maraca, the triangle, and the washboard, and it’s pretty funny:

Our pal Jake Owen has a brand new CD today.  It’s called “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,”  and guess what?  The smash hit song “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” is on there!  Maybe we’re biased but we feel that there is probably another hit or two lurking on this CD as well.  Plus, look at him.

Why?  Because she looks a little tipsy, that’s why.  It was her birthday, and while she could have been sipping on sweet tea, it looks like she was celebrating with a little of the hard stuff.  There’s really nothing more to this story than that.  But do you ever wonder why there’s always a camera taking up-close pictures of LeAnn whenever she shows up anywhere in a bikini?  Some say it’s because she calls the photogs and tips them off.  Others just say she’s happy to pose, which not all celebs are.  At any rate, I think I’m more familiar with LeAnn’s bod than my own at this point.

Just want to clear the record on two country singers I’ve told you about recently who have been arrested or charged with crimes.  (Neither of these guys are super-big stars, so in case you never hear about them again, just wanted to clear their names!)   Bucky Covington, (long haired Idol guy, had a few country hits) who was accused by a promoter of stealing some money at a gig, has been cleared of all charges as there was absolutely no evidence to back up the promoter’s claim.  Also, Tracy Lawrence (“Paint Me a Birmingham”), who got into a dust-up with a promoter and was charged with a misdemeanor, has been cleared as well.  Turns out the promoter threw the first punch!  So that’s the last you’ll hear of those two stories.

It’s Blake and Miranda, “falling in love on stage.”  They showed a little bit of this during Miranda Lambert’s Dateline NBC interview last night, and I decided to check it out since it had been a while.  YOWZA.  This duet was what brought Miranda and Blake Shelton together for the first time, and in her interview last night, she admitted that she had all kinds of feelings she didn’t know what to do with on that night.  Check it out for yourself!

Eric Church says that before he became a country star, he actually sold knives in the middle of the night to drunk people.  How great is that?  Here’s the deal:  He was a phone operator for one of those home shopping networks, and he worked the night shift during the time when they were selling those knife sets where you get 200 for $19.95.  Eric says he was TERRIBLE at this job, because, as he says, “I was young and I’d been in a lot of these peoples’ shoes…I knew they were drunk..They’d just come home from the bar, flipped on Shop at Home and said, ‘You know what?  I need that.’”  When Eric’s bosses realized that he was actually talking these drunk people out of buying the knives, they fired him, of course.

That doesn’t sound like fun!  Here’s what happened:  Taylor Swift is in LA for her 5 million (okay, four) sold out shows in a row.  While there, she fell prey to a punking, courtesy of Justin Bieber.  Turns out Ashton Kutcher is no longer the host of that show, and instead it will be a series of guest punkers.  So we don’t know the details, but Justin punk’d Taylor.

What about the “stiffed” part? Taylor was nominated for one MTV VMA award, and she didn’t get it.  No big deal, though, she didn’t even go to the show.  She was shopping at an LA flea market instead.

Trace Adkins is changing jobs, for three days at least.  There’s a new GAC show called “Day Jobs,” and while at first I thought, “who cares?” I found out that the country stars who come on the show actually have to go back and work an 8 hour shift at the place where they worked before they were a star.  In Trace’s case, he went the extra mile and spent three days on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico.  Kind of cool.  You’ll also see stars go back and do waitressing, shoe sales, and more when the show starts in October.
