Kellie Pickler was on 90210 last week:

She did such a swell job that apparently she’ll be back as a semi-regular character! That girl can do anything.

Billy Ray posted this picture with a message:

“My first U F O sighting.Looks like 5 or 6 disk like shapes hovering. Special moment 4 DAD”

So what does it look like to you, a UFO or just a really nice sunset?  Hard to tell, but I’m leaning toward sunset.  It’s also possible that Billy Ray wasn’t really serious about believing it was a UFO.

The list is up for the 2012 Peoples’ Choice Awards.  This is the list of possible nominees, and they need your vote to narrow these lists down to the actual nominees.  There are lots of country names on there, so if you want, say, Blake Shelton to be up there with Justin Bieber in the Favorite Male Artist category, go and vote now at this website.

You’ve seen him on a lot of “Hottest Bachelors in Country Music”-type lists over the years because he is just that:  single, hot, and a country star.  So Chris Young has got it made, right?  On the road, making music, his choice of lovely ladies throwing themselves at him…what more could a single guy want?  Well, Chris says he’s decided not to mix romance and work anymore, so even though he says he’s seen some “suggestive signs” at his shows, he shrugs off advances with a “thank you very much.”  In fact, he has a new rule:  no women allowed on the tour bus after shows.

Say what???!!!  I mean, I get it.  You’re probably not going to find your soulmate when someone throws herself at you at a show, right?  You’re more likely to have one night of fun, and then it’s on to the next town.  But I have a feeling that someday, when he’s all married with kids, he’ll look back on this golden age, and think, “D’oh!”

“Clancy’s Tavern,” Toby’s new CD, is out today.  (Don’t forget:  he takes over The Wolf today from noon to 1, and then chats with us Wednesday morning at 7:20.)   Anyway, you’ll get “Made in America,” “Red Solo Cup,” and much more, including the title track, which I really like.  Here Toby explains to “Roughstock” the real life story behind the song:

“My Grandmother passed away when she was 86; she was like Miss Kitty and ran a supper club/night club in Fort Smith for years. So when I was a kid, some of the earliest memories I have of being on this earth were going by her night club and seeing my Grandmother. I spent a whole summer with her, and years ago I wrote the song “Honkytonk U” about it and her buying me a guitar. This song is a tribute to her. The name of the bar was Billy Garners’ Supper Club, but it wasn’t fitting into my song very well. My Grandfather had nicknamed her Clancy because she was a saloon keeper, and always called her Clancy around the house. So I used Clancy’s Tavern. I give you the visual and everything you see when you go in the door. There’s nothing made up in this song. Every bit of this is word for word, exactly what you would have seen if you went in the front door at 5:00 and stayed all night long. It’s a pretty special song to me.”

Click here to here some clips, or tune in at noon today!

When you’re getting on in years, it’s important to let your loved ones know what your desires are for funeral, burial, etc. Here’s Willie’s official statement on that issue:

Trace Adkins sang the anthem at last night’s game, just one night after teen Idol Scotty McCreery sang it for game 1. You might have heard that Scotty made a little flub so it sounded like he was saying “No Jose” instead of “O say.” (scroll down to watch it for yourself.) It was an otherwise perfect anthem, by the way, but it’s impossible to hear it and not wonder why he’s mentioning Jose all of the sudden. Anyway, last night was Trace’s turn, and he did a swell job. No Joses anywhere!

They sure do love each other…Taylor Swift and Ellen DeGeneres, that is. Taylor visited yesterday to let Ellen know that she doesn’t have a boyfriend, and also that sometimes she thinks about kittens when she’s singing on stage. Here’s the whole deal:

And here’s Taylor meeting one of her trillions of huge fans:

Here’s Scotty’s anthem, with a little technical glitch at the beginning….

He also says “No Jose does that Star Spangled banner yet wave”? Which is interesting. Otherwise he sounds pretty good for a teenager!

More country anthems are on the way, as Trace Adkins will sing it at tonight’s game and Ronnie Dunn at Game 3.
