I’m a big fan of the Brad Paisley/Carrie Underwood CMA hosting combo, so I’m happy to report that the twoof them will be back again as co-hosts for this year’s show.  Next week, the nominees will be announced, and the date of the show has been set for November 10th.

Brad Paisley is touring Europe, and he got all excited about his visit to Norway.  It’s always fun for country stars to visit countries where they’re not even sure if people know who they are, only to find out that they’ve got thousands of fans there.  And that’s exactly what happened to Brad in Norway, as you’ll see from his tweets:

“As they say in Norvay, “herda shveeda veeda nyuva fyerda shveena shmeena myerna vyooda freeda shmorgasboarda.””

“By the way, these Norwegians are the nicest people I’ve ever met. Truly.”

“There is nothing like singing “when yer a celebrity it’s adios…” and hearing a crowd sing”re-all-e-tee” with a norsk accent back at you.”

“I sure loved Norway. Beautiful. And you knew every word. Gotta come back.”

Yep. It happened in Plainview, Texas, where a high school yearbook staff chose a Brad Paisley song, “Time Well Wasted,” as their yearbook theme. The idea, they say, is that you think you’re wasting time when you’re in school, but years later you realize it was time well spent. The teachers, however, did not agree AT ALL. They were furious, saying that “we work our tails off to give these students the best education…and at the end of the year all we have is a yearbook stating that it was a waste of time.” I guess they’re not super-open to the idea that it might not really be a total insult to them. Someone’s head had to roll, and in this case it was Nicole Jackson, the yearbook advisor. Wonder what Brad would think?

He’s great, but she’s not the best interviewer I’ve ever seen…at one point she says “It’s not dollar-able.” Okaaaaayyyyy……

Kenny Chesney is in 3D right now at a theater near you, but he’s not the only country star on the big screen this weekend.  Brad Paisley’s short film, “When Mom’s Away,” is premiering at the Nashville Film Festival this week.  This little movie is something Brad did to torture his wife, acress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, when she left town recently and put him in charge of their two sons.  Brad and the boys in his band ran out to Toys R Us and bought a doll the size of son Jasper, then put Jasper’s clothes on the doll.  They put “Jasper” through all kinds of craziness, including shooting guns, riding a horse and speeding down a hill in a stroller.  Brad says when Kimberly got home and asked how things went, he just handed her the remote and said, “press play.”  Yikes!  The movie probably won’t get released around the country, but I’m hoping some of it will end up on Youtube.

Yes, if it’s the crap of an Indonesian Civet. As sort of a joke, Brad Paisley’s band gave him some “kopi luwak,” an expensive and rare coffee drink that is derived from the poop of a cat-like animal that eats the fruit of the coffee plant. Brad says this delicacy his favorite morning beverage now! Good thing he can afford it…it’s at least $100 a pound.

Congrats to Justin Moore, who just became a daddy for the first time.  He and his wife scheduled a C-section so that he could be there for the birth of his daughter, and everything went perfectly.  Little Ella Kole weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces, and everyone is doing fine.  Now Justin can go back to opening for Brad Paisley.

Good news item #2 comes from Brad Paisley…he’s just scored his 12th #1 song in a row with “American Saturday Night.”  Four more in a row and he’ll tie the record set by hall-of-famer Sonny James with 16.

Brad Paisley has collaborated with some of the greatest people in country music:  Dolly Parton, Keith Urban, Alison Kraus, etc. etc.  But he still hasn’t gotten to work with the guy of his dreams:  Eric Clapton.  Now this makes perfect sense because Brad is famous for his guitar chops and Eric is one of the greatest guitar players alive today.  Brad says he’s never even met Eric, but he figures if he just keeps saying it again and again, that Eric will give in and work with him.  I think it would be a wise choice for Eric, who’s not exactly huge on the radio.  I’ll bet you anything he and Brad could throw down a #1 country hit.

Pretty good stats:  Brad Paisley’s “Welcome to the Future” has just become his 11th consecutive #1 single.  That’s not an easy feat, but he’s done it.  Let me count them down for you in reverse order:  ‘Then,’ ‘Start a Band,’ ‘Waitin’ on a Woman,’ ‘Ticks,’ ‘Online,’ ‘Letter to Me,’ ‘I’m Still a Guy,’ ‘The World,’ ‘She’s Everything’ and ‘Alcohol.’  Yipee!
