Chris Young was on Jimmy Kimmel’s show this week, and if you blinked you might have missed a wedding proposal.  Chris’ bass player Steve had a shirt on that said, “Missy, Marry Me?”  Turns out it was for real!  Chris tweeted to confirm it.  Mike thinks this is not the best way to propose, since they weren’t even in the same room together.  I think it’s kind if sweet because the guy is probably on tour, and misses her, and wanted to do something original and clever.  Either way, she said yes, so she must have liked it just fine.

“Red River Blue” hits stores today.  That’s Blake Shelton’s brand new CD, and I have a feeling he’s going to see some numbers that are a lot higher than he’s used to.  His stint on “The Voice” and his marriage to Miranda Lambert have turned up the heat on Blake’s career in a big way.  I’ve even heard “Honey Bee” on pop radio (yes, my daughter makes me listen to top 40 sometimes) so it will be interesting to see how many CDs he sells this week.  Tonight Blake will hang out with David Letterman, and tomorrow he’ll visit Regis and Kelly in the AM and Jimmy Fallon in the PM.

Chris Young also has a new release today, “Neon.”  It includes the hit “Tomorrow” and a bunch of future hits as well.

Check out Chris without his hat!

He’s a relatively new artist, but Chris Young is already on his second trip overseas to entertain the troops.  He’s scheduled to return to the States on April 21st.  Looks like this guy might join the ranks of Toby Keith, Trace Adkins, Craig Morgan, Kellie Pickler and a few others who are very dedicated to regularly paying tribute to the men and women serving overseas.

Congrats to Chris Young, who has a third #1 in a row with “Voices.” He called us last week, asking us to help him push the song to #1, and we did a little Lamaze breathing, trying to give the song that last push to the top of the charts. It worked! However, Chris made us promise that if it worked, we would never use the word “crowning” again about a song.

One quick interesting fact about the song: This is actually the second time Chris has released it as a single. The first time, back in 2008, it tanked at #37. The only other time a re-released single has gone to the top of the charts was with “On The Other Hand” by Randy Travis in 1986.
