So this is a picture of a picture on Keith Urban’s cell phone.  It’s exciting because, of course, it’s the first picture we’ve seen of new baby Faith Margaret.  Keith and his wife Nicole Kidman showed this off on the red carpet at the SAG awards.  And by the way, if you want to sound cool, you will call the baby “Faith Margaret,” as the parents say they want her to have that southern-style double name.  Also the second name, Margaret, is after Nic’s grandma who had her last baby at 49, so Nicole says she’s an inspiration to them.

Nicole Kidman has given another statement about new baby Faith Margaret, born to her and Keith Urban via a “gestational carrier.”  She says that “We spent Christmas on tenterhooks and after Faith Margaret was born on Dec. 28, a healthy 8 lbs., 9 oz., we spent New Year’s on cloud nine.”  They’ve also revealed that her middle name is from Nicole’s grandmother, and her first name reflects the faith they had that somehow they could bring another child into the world despite the trouble Nicole had conceiving daughter Sunday Rose.  If you’re wondering how they kept this all a secret, they say they decided to do the whole process in Nashville versus Australia, since they have more privacy in the US than in their homeland.  Not enough celebs in Australia, so someone’s always following their every move there.

Wow!!!! Congrats to Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman, who have become parents to a daughter named Faith Margaret, born December 28th via a surrogate mom. So after all of that speculation around photos of Nicole Kidman’s waistline (“baby bump??!!???!!”) they managed to become parents and surprise everyone. Here they are looking more in love than ever at the Golden Globes on Sunday, by the way:

“Our family is truly blessed, and just so thankful, to have been given the gift of baby Faith Margaret.  No words can adequately convey the incredible gratitude that we feel for everyone who was so supportive throughout this process, in particular our gestational carrier.”

FYI, the baby is biologically theirs, as Keith’s boys were used to fertilize Nic’s egg.  No word on why they chose this option, but it is certainly a common choice for couples who are having trouble making it work on their own due to fertility issues.  Yes, Nicole did just give birth a few years back, but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t be having problems just a few years later. 

If not for meeting the love of her life (Keith Urban) and moving to Nashville, Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman says she was planning to move to Oregon.  Here in an interview conducted by her pal Jennifer Aniston (JA), she explains:

JA: I feel awkward getting into interviewer mode, but tell me about your life in Nashville with Keith [Urban] and Sunday Rose. How long have you now lived there?

NK: Five years.

JA: I was just down South in Georgia, and it was heaven to be away from all the irritation of the cameras and all that hubbub. Was moving to Nashville something that both you and Keith wanted to do?

NK: It was perfect timing, because I had nowhere to live. I was living out of suitcases when I met Keith. I suppose in the back of my mind I was waiting to meet somebody. And I wanted it to be that if that person didn’t live in New York or Los Angeles, I would be able to move. In the back of my head, I was thinking I may have to put my roots down somewhere. I was going to move to Oregon.

JA: Oregon? It’s gorgeous. I understand that absolutely.

Keith Urban’s first visit with Oprah…I knew it was going to be a love-fest because ever since he’s been with Nicole and gotten sober, Keith is pretty spiritual and effusive about his love for his wife.  And Oprah LOVES that kind of stuff.  She was lapping it up!  Keith was visibly nervous, I think because he knew he was going to have to go a little more personal than usual because that’s the way Opie rolls.  But he was really charming and adorable, and I think he probably got some new fans.  If you want to see him talking about how Nic saved him from drugs, click here.

Set your DVRs….Keith Urban’s first visit to Oprah happens today as part of her big Australia extravaganza. Keith will sing, talk, and bring his lovely wife Nicole out to chat as well. Should be lurrrrvely. Oprah airs at 4 on KGW channel 8.

Keith Urban 2010-11-16 8-20a

Keith Urban has presented two possible options for his album “Get Closer,” which arrives in stores on November 16th.  One is a picture of Keith “getting closer” with his flawlessly pale and gorgeous wife, actress Nicole Kidman (Keith hasn’t said it’s her, and you can’t see her face, but why would he hire a look-alike model and then lovingly caress her arm?).  The other option is of Keith by himself, sitting by a bed with his guitar nearby.  Your vote will determine if Keith ends up with Nicole on the cover or by himself.  Now maybe I’m selfish, but I’m just not that into looking at Keith being embraced by his perfect wife.  I’d rather look at him sitting alone on that bed, guitar at his side, ready to sing me a song.  Frankly, the wife just gets in the way.  And based on the vote tally so far (Keith by himself has more than double the votes of the Keith/Nicole cover) I guess I’m not the only one.  Click here to cast your vote on which cover he’ll release.

…Or Without?

Keith and Nicole could be going for a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday to keep little Sunday company.  Usually Keith Urban doesn’t like to get toooo personal with the questions, but lately he had this to say about whether he and Nicole would like to have another kid:  “We would love to expand our family.  If that’s the plan for that then we will embrace that.  Definitely…If we shall be blessed with another one, we would be thrilled.”  Nice!  Sounds like someone’s not actively trying not to have kids, if you know what I mean.

This video is circulating around the web, and some people are saying that it shows Keith Urban kicking a security guard.  Nope.  If you watch closely, he’s just doing what he often does at his shows, which is letting the security know that he doesn’t want them to be too harsh with the fans up front.  It’s more like a “shoo” than a kick.  You can see it at the 1:30 mark here:
