Sounds like a potential disaster.  But in fact, it’s quite awesome!  Beyonce has a song called “If I Were a Boy,”  which is about a woman explaining how much better she’d treat girlfriends if she were “the boy”.  Here’s a link to Reba’s unplugged videos.  And below is the video of the Beyonce song.  I think it should be a single…what do you think?

This Friday, Reba McEntire will join Brooks and Dunn to perform their hit “Cowgirls Don’t Cry” on CBS’ The Late Show With David Letterman.  The threesome is promoting the special, “ACMs Present:  Brooks and Dunn — The Last Rodeo,” a show that was recorded in Vegas during the ACMs, which means everyobdy known to man was available to participate.  That show airs this Sunday night, also on CBS.

When Reba McEntire performs this Fourth of July at the annual “A Capitol Fourth” concert in Washington, DC, this summer, she’ll also receive a special award that’s only been given to 3 other people.  It’s the National Artistic Achievement Award, and it’s given to people who show “dedication to enriching the national legacy of the performing arts.”  Nice!  Prevoius recepients of the award are cinematic composer John Williams, Miami songstress Gloria Estefan, and Stevie Wonder.  Congrats to Reba.

For the rodeo or the opera.

$510 is the final bid for the eBay auction that ended Friday, 4/30 at 8:41 am.  THIS IS THE eBay LINK!

Proceeds to Girls Incorporated® of Northwest Oregon, a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.

It was signed by Reba McEntire at her Rose Garden show 3/26/10.  Made from a pair of pink/lavender leather cowboy boots, the purse was crafted by Diamond 57 of Gresham.

You might have noticed that one of Reba McEntire’s jokes at the ACMs the other night was at the expense of Kirstie Alley:  “Toby (Keith) has a chain of restaurants…and it specializes in fried onion rings, fried mozzarella sticks and southern fried twinkies.  Sounds like Thanksgiving at Kirstie Alley’s.”  Kirstie must have been watching, because she tweeted the following to Reba:

“@reba wow…thought we girls would stick together…next time you need a fat joke about me just ask.  Mine are funny.”

Hmmmm.  I can kind of see both sides on this one.  If Kirstie was privately and quietly struggling with her weight, I would say that joke would be absolutely unacceptable.  But Kirstie has made a living for the past 5 years or so talking about her weight.  She’s been a paid spokesperson for Jenny Craig, and she’s had not one but two TV shows with the word “fat” in the title.   I applaud her for being so open about her struggle, but she also has to realize that profiting from it might make her fair game.  On the other hand, it’s one thing for someone with an issue to make fun of themselves, and another for other people (like perfectly thin Reba) to make those same jokes.  I wonder if she’ll apologize?

Set your DVR for ABC Tuesday night, even if you are not a fan of Dancing With the Stars. Reba will be on the results show, singing “I Want a Cowboy” and one other song from her new CD.  I’m sure she’ll look good and sound even better.

They’re both being promoted by their fans as good choices to host SNL.  Betty and Reba’s fans have each set up Facebook pages to get momentum and gain attention from the producers of the show.  If Reba hosted and sang, she’d join a small listof country stars that have done both:  Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson and Taylor Swift.  Reba, of course, has the acting chops and the TV experience to pull it off.  And so does Betty, by the way!  But I don’t really want to hear her sing.

I love that Reba McEntire has the biggest hit of her long career right NOW, at age 54!  “Consider Me Gone” stayed at #1 for three straight weeks, making her the oldest female to ever top the country charts (I’m sure she’s not super-excited about this aspect of it, but it’s still pretty cool.)  So it’s no surprise that Reba will be hosting the ACMs again this year, which have been scheduled for April 18th at the MGM Grand in Vegas.  It’s her 12th time hosting, and with her recent success she may endup giving herself some awards.

Well, you don’t have to, but that’s what’s cool about the show that Faith Hill is hosting tonight on CBS, “A Home for the Holidays”.  This is the 11th annual, and one of the reasons this show comes back year after year is that it actually does inspire people to adopt kids.  Stories from people like Faith, who was adopted at birth, and other celebs who were either adopted or have adopted kids help make the point about how great it can be.  Tonight’s show also features performances from Carrie Underwood and Reba McEntire.  That’s at 8 o’clock tonight on CBS (6).

We’re already pretty excited that Reba and George Strait are teaming up for a tour this Spring.  Butnow they’ve announced that Lee Ann Womack will join them for all of those dates….talk about a powerhouse trio!  It sure would be nice if they would stop by the Rose Garden!  Of course if they WERE coming, due to some strange rule, I could never officially announce a date until our station is given the OK, but that shouldn’t stop you from doing a little internet search and figuring it out for yourself!
