So there’s this big party happening at the Grand Ole Opry this weekend to celebrate their 86th birthday.  Lots of big stars will be there, including Ronnie Dunn.  But he wasn’t so thrilled when he got the call a few days ago asking him to play “past radio hits.”  To him, that’s basically asking him to do Brooks and Dunn stuff, and it kind of honked him off. (Wouldn’t you love to be the person who had to make THAT call?”)  So then he wrote about it on his Facebook page, saying, “I’m having a hard time playing by ‘the rules’ these days.  I really am!  In fact, I’m over it.  Think I’ll sing what I feel like singing…they can spank me and send me home.”  So many Ronnie fans showed their support that he was amazed and said he’ll definitely go ahead with his plan.

New releases today include Ronnie Dunn’s first ever solo CD, which features “Bleed Red,” and also a very cool new Randy Travis CD celebrating his 25 years in country music.  He’s got duets on there with all kinds of superstars, including Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney.  It’s called “Anniversary Celebration”  and it also includes Carrie Underwood, Zac Brown, and Josh Turner, who idolized Randy when he was a kid.

He said he’d put out some solo music early this year, and he wasn’t kidding.  Check out “Bleed Red” by clicking here.  Sounds good from what I can tell.
