After this awkward moment, Shania laughed the whole thing off and mentioned she should sell the shoes for charity. And now she is! They sing so well together!  It’s great to hear Shania Twain once again!

Here’s Shania’s new song. She debuted it on the finale of her OWN show last night and it’s available at itunes now. What do you think? So far, it’s getting mixed reviews, even from her bigtime fans. Sometimes Shania songs sneak up on you, though. They seem kind of repetitive, and next thing you know they’re in your head and you can’t stop listening to them. I’m just happy for her that she’s found her voice again and can get back to doing what she loves.

Remember the Shania Twain of about 10 years ago?  Living a very private life in her Swiss mansion, barely ever coming over to the States except for the occasional tour?  Well those days are over.  She’s right in the middle of her comeback, and Shania is so everywhere and so into meeting her fans that she’s starting to remind me of Garth.  Check this out:  Shania will be at the CMA Music Festival (formerly Fan Fair) today, signing autographs for fans and hosting a brunch for some Oprah audience members.  PLUS, she just announced that, much like Garth, she will be doing a 2 year-long Vegas engagement.  It doesn’t start until December of next year, but tickets will go on sale June 19th so start making plans now!

Congrats to the top-selling female country artist of all time, Shania Twain, who was just honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week.  Man, she sure is purty!  Alice and I were just strolling along this street last weekend on our LA trip, and I’m kind of bummed we missed out on a real live country star sighting by just a few days.

You might be surprised by how this sounds, but only because it’s an acoustic, spontaneous version of the song that Shania Twain says she is going to release to radio at the end of her OWN series, which wraps up June 12th.  It’s called “Today is Your Day” and here it is:

Shania will be on the “Ellen” show today! (ch 8, 3 pm)

Shania’s show on Oprah’s network was their highest rated show yet.  They’re thankful, too, because that network is struggling a bit.

I was completely glued to the set for Shania’s “Oprah” episode yesterday.  So many revelations!  It really made me like Shania more…I used to feel like she was kind of cold and robotic, but sheesh!  She is letting it all out these days, and it’s fascinating.  In case you missed it, here were some key points:

Shania says there was so much violence in her home as a kid that it taught her to hold in her emotions and rarely express them.

She was BLOWN AWAY when she found out that her husband, Mutt, and her closest friend Marianne were cheating behind her back.  She had even been confiding in Marianne about how weird Mutt had been acting!  So the betrayal felt huge.

After her marriage fell apart, so did she.  She could barely get out of bed and says “I didn’t want to kill myself, but I didn’t want to live.” 

She literally lost her voice after the break-up, but she’s gradually gotten it back and plans to make a comeback at the CMA Music Fest this year.
