A bunch of stuff all wrapped up together:

REBA’S WITH BLAKE:  She’ll be helping him out on upcoming episodes of the already very popular singing show “The Voice.”  Not tonight (9PM, ch 8) during auditions, but in a few weeks when they get to the “battle” part of the show.  Each coach gets to pick a pal to help out, so Blake picked Reba.

SHANIA’S ON OPRAH:  Shania’s got a book out today (“From This Moment On”) and a new TV series that starts on Oprah’s network this Sunday.  So Today she’ll join Oprah (4PM, Ch 8) to give us titillating tidbits that will make us want to read and watch  more.

SARA’S ON TOP:  YAY for Sara Evans.  Her great song “Stronger” has just topped both country music charts.  The comeback is now official.

KENNY’S ON TOP OF GAGA:  Lady Gaga’s “Little Monsters” tour has been HUGE.  Who could top it?  How ’bout Kenny Chesney?  His “Goin’ Coastal” tour just beat out Gag’s (oops! I meant “Gaga’s”!  that was an honest typo, but I just had to leave it in) tour, grossing $6.5 million in one week.  That’s the highest grossing tour out there, and it’s about a million more than Gaga made.

Shania at the Junos in a really cool dress

It’s a term I made up to describe Shania Twain’s stalker, the guy who was arrested at the Juno awards this week just after Shania was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.  His name is Giovanni Palumbo, and he’s a doctor!  Yes, even Shania’s stalkers are rich.  At one point in the 90s he even made enough money to owe $500,000 in back taxes.  But like all stalker stories, there’s a sad side to this whole thing.  Up until about ten years ago, this guy had a wife, three kids, and a big house, but then he had some kind of psychotic break and everything fell apart.  That’s when his obsession with Shania began, and he was soon showing up all over the place, at her houses in Canada, at her grandma’s funeral, trying to convince the superstar that they were meant to be.  Hence the restraining order, which is why they were able to arrest him on the floor of the Juno Awards ceremony earlier this week and throw him in jail.  End of sad story.

People magazine now has the exclusive story on the Shania Twain wedding, including this photo:

The magazine also has a few more details about the big day, including the fact that Shania got her gown at a boutique right by her house (mansion) in Switzerland, and her son Eja, 9, walked her down the aisle.

Purty! Here’s a blurry pic of the happy couple at their New Year’s Day wedding in Puerto Rico:

In case you didn’t hear, Shania Twain married Frederic Thiebaud, her love of the past few years, with 40 close friends and family members in attendance on 1/1/11.  Congrats to the happy pair!

Congrats to Shania Twain, who has just confirmed that she’s been engaged to her boyfriend Frederic Thiebaud for a few months now.  For those of you unfamiliar with the saga, Shania’s 14 year marriage to Mutt Lange fell apart when Shania found out that Mutt was cheating with her best friend, Marie-Anne Thiebaud (allegedly….the two still deny it).  So during that difficult time, who’s going to understand what you are going through better than Marie-Anne’s husband, Fred?  When the two turned to each other for comfort, the relationship blossomed, and so did Shania.  She has spent the past few years traveling and loving life with her new man, who seems to make her very happy.  So congrats to the two of them, and here is her official statement.

Shania Twain may have been laying low for the past few years, but she’s had one heck of a life.  From crushing poverty and raising her siblings after the death of her parents, Shania scratched her way up to the very top of the music business, marrying her producer along the way and then going through a very dramatic divorce that involved cheating and best friends and all kinds of stuff.  So is that a book you would read, or what?  Shania has officially inked a deal to write her autobiography, so we’ll soon have a chance to do just that.

If American Idol has anything to say about it, Shania Twain will soon be working for them. According to CNN, they are hotly pursuing the country superstar to fill the shoes of departed judges Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres. Shania did do a great job when she was a guest judge last season, but she is absolutely loaded and certainly doesn’t need a regular gig for money reasons. If she does want to re-emerge on the music scene, though, it certainly would be a way to get back in the public eye. My guess is she’ll say no because she generally likes to do things on her own terms, and if she’s ready to revive her career she’ll make an album and promote it her own way. But wouldn’t it be great if they had someone on that show who actually knows about country music?

Shania’s talking touring, but it’s probably not what you think:  At a recent Red Cross benefit in Switzerland, Shania Twain attended with her boyfriend, Frederic Thiebaud, and said that she’d like to do an acoustic tour of some of the countries where people are suffering and need help.  She’d like to share her music with them and inspire them.  I say that’s really nice, but she could help even more by adding some dates here in the US, taking the money she raises and giving it to the people in those troubled countries.  Is that selfish of me?

Am I the only one who likes the show this season?  I just find the variety kind of refreshing.  So it was fun to see everyone’s take on Shania songs last night.  And I thought Shania did a good job of mentoring.  In fact, I think she’s a lot mellower and warmer since her split with the hubby.

And a reminder that tonight there’s more country on there.  Rascal Flatts perform live, Lady A performs taped, and a brand-new band called Sons of Sylvia will perform, which I would say is a major score for a band that no one knows yet.  All tonight at 9 on Fox 12.

I told you that Shania will be the mentor next week on Idol as the finalists sing her songs.  Now they’ve added more country to the results show, which will be next Wednesday:  Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts.  Lady A will sing “Need You Now,” which may or may not be the pre-recorded version they already did.  Rascal Flatts will sing “Unstoppable” and also help Shakira out with a song….huh?  Remember Shakira’s big hit “My Hips Don’t Lie?”  No?  Well anyway, she’s a Colombian songstress along the lines of Britney Spears.  Should be interesting.
