Here’s Le Ann Rimes’ Halloween costume.  Now when rumors start that she’s pregnant, she can’t bitch and moan about it.  I know, I know, it’s a Halloween costume, but last year when she tweeted a pic of Eddie on bended knee in front of a morgue sign or something, the rumor started that they were engaged and she was SHOCKED that people misinterpreted.  I guess I’m just saying she likes to get people chatting.

Okay, so how often to random, stray dogs come running up to you?  I think it’s happened twice in my lifetime.  But if you’re Miranda Lambert, it seems to happen all the time.  She’s already got seven adopted strays after adding two she found on the roadside in January.  And now, looks like #8 has arrived.  She tweeted, “This wandered up last night.  7-month old bloodhound.  Ophelia is what I named her.  Lord not another one.”

So here’s my theory.  If you live in Oklahoma and you find yourself with an animal you just can’t care for, there’s an excellent option for how to deal with it:  just drop it off on the road by Miranda’s house.  Now, be sure to check her touring schedule and make sure she’s not out of town.  but once you figure that out, just hide in the bushes until you see her drive by, let the dog off the lease and let it chase down her truck and you’re good to go.   You’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that your dog leads the pampered life of a country star dog for the rest of its days.

Sugarland returned to Indiana on Friday night to perform a show paying tribute to the victims of the stage collapse tragedy that killed 7 people and injured 40 this past summer. This show was attended by thousands of people who had been at the original State Fair show, and many of them were directly affected by the collapse.  Tickets for that August show were honored, and Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles opened the show saying that they all had been “changed by who had happened,” and there were many intense moments that followed, including Jennifer painting “heal” on a flag that was carried through the crowd (see video below).  Most people who spoke of the show afterward said that it felt good to be together and acknowledge what they had all been through.  Money was also donated to the Indiana State Fair Remembrance Fund.

Awesomest picture ever, right? That's Lionel in the upper right corner.

The latest music legend to dip his toe into country is none other than Lionel Richie, famous for his work with the Commodores (“Brick House,” anyone?) and his solo mega-hits, like “Hello” and “Easy.”  (He’s also famous for being Nicole Richie’s dad, but that doesn’t really have anything to do with the music.)  Lionel has re-recorded all of his big hits country-style, and he’s got people singing on there like Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, and Shania Twain.  That doesn’t come out til March, but meanwhile he’ll be singing with Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker and Little Big Town at the CMA awards.  This is a guy who has dipped his toe in country music, but it’s been a while.  He wrote Kenny Rogers’ huge hit “Lady”, and a few of his songs climbed up the country charts a bit in the late 70s.

Here’s a track listing of Lionel’s CD to get you excited:

“You Are” (Blake Shelton)
“Say You, Say Me” (Jason Aldean)
“Stuck on You” (Rucker)
“Deep River Woman” (Little Big Town)
“My Love” (Kenny Chesney)
“Dancing on the Ceiling” (Rascal Flatts)
“Hello” (Jennifer Nettles)
“Sail On” (Tim McGraw)
“Endless Love” (Shania Twain)
“Just for You” (Billy Currington)
“Lady” (Kenny Rogers)
“Easy” (Willie Nelson)
“All Night Long” (Jimmy Buffett)

A few years back, Lonestar’s lead singer Richie McDonald headed out for a solo career, and the band replaced him with a guy named Cody Collins.   I guess that didn’t work out too well for either party, because Richie says the band is reuniting for their 20th anniversary, which they will celebrate with a big European and North American tour.  No specific American dates yet, but I’ll let you know.  (PS.  Sorry about the corny headline!)

…that Martina McBride will be on Dancing With the Stars tonight, singing for the dancers on the results show. Kristin Chenoweth, the tiny adorable Broadway star who recently made a country record, will also be on there. Tonight at 9 on ABC.

Kellie Pickler was on 90210 last week:

She did such a swell job that apparently she’ll be back as a semi-regular character! That girl can do anything.

Billy Ray posted this picture with a message:

“My first U F O sighting.Looks like 5 or 6 disk like shapes hovering. Special moment 4 DAD”

So what does it look like to you, a UFO or just a really nice sunset?  Hard to tell, but I’m leaning toward sunset.  It’s also possible that Billy Ray wasn’t really serious about believing it was a UFO.

The list is up for the 2012 Peoples’ Choice Awards.  This is the list of possible nominees, and they need your vote to narrow these lists down to the actual nominees.  There are lots of country names on there, so if you want, say, Blake Shelton to be up there with Justin Bieber in the Favorite Male Artist category, go and vote now at this website.
